Dahlia

I found this gorgeous berry colored canvas and was instantly inspired to sculpt a Dahlia.  The petals are tightly rolled onto themselves in the middle and slowly unfurling as they open up to the edge. I love how this piece has an architectural look about it.  It is sculpted with canvas and lightly shaded with pinks and cranberry acrylic paint.  It measures 20" diameter and 6" deep sculpted on a 12"x12" canvas.
