The White Rose

The White Rose sculpted in canvas can be seen at the Robert Kent Galleries in Marietta, GA.

I was inspired to create The White Rose from my love of the 14th - 19th century history. The white rose was first adopted as a heraldic badge by Edmund of Langley, 1st Duke of York (1341–1402), the fourth surviving son of King Edward III of England.  The York & Lancaster descendants fought for control of the throne of England during several decades of civil warfare, which became known as the Wars of the Roses, after the Red & White Roses were combined of the two competing royal houses to represent the Tudor House.  Maybe one day I will create a piece that represents the Tudor House.
